Âli Yurtsever
Project Coordinator

A veteran of the ICT sector where he has worked as an entrepreneur, company executive, and a consultant, Âli has developed a strong interest in interactions between art, science and technology. He designed and conducted workshops and seminars in Yildiz Technical University (YTU) of Istanbul, and became a part-time lecturer offering under-grad and graduate courses focused on the relationship between art and science. Âli is a founding partner and a member of the executive board of Istanbul Digital Culture and Art Foundation, and he is currently a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Art and Design at YTU doing research on collaborative art in the public sphere.

Gökçe Su Yoğurtçuoğlu
Artistic Director

Gokce Su is an Istanbul-based Producer and Director, currently leading MODE Istanbul Film and Digital Arts Initiative and representing in Turkey  Doc Next Network, a unique movement of independent cultural and media organizations capturing the views of young European media-makers. A graduate of Koc University’s BA program in International Relations (Istanbul) and New School University’s MA program in Media Studies and Certificate program in Film Production (New York),  Gokce Su has been producing films, developing projects and organizing media workshops, master classes, screenings, exhibitions and gatherings in selected cities in collaboration with distinguished partners on local and international levels for ten years. She had previously worked at the New York headquarters of RES Media Group as Programmer and Production Coordinator of RESFEST, a global touring festival of innovative film, video and music, concurrently producing the festival’s Turkish dates in multiple cities. Gokce Su had also worked as a journalist and published articles for the national Radikal newspaper in Turkey.

Selen Akçalı
Activity Manager

Born in Istanbul Selen is currently a  PhD candidate in the department of history at Bogazici University of Istanbul. Her research is about the propaganda activities of Turkey during the Second World War period. She has expertise in EU’s Framework Programmes, other European Community Programmes and IPA projects. Selen coordinated and organized exhibitions and contemporary art projects in Turkey, France, Germany, United Kingdom and in the United States in collaboration with international organizations like British Council, Art Councils of England, Intercult and Cultures France. While heading especially towards culture, art and social responsibility projects since 2008, Selen is one of the founding partners of SOM.

Zafer Kurdakul
Communications Manager

Zafer has carried on his career in the ICT industry for long years now, starting as an engineer and outstretching to entrepreneurship and to top executive management levels. In recent years, he has been researching, presenting his views and writing about the impacts of technology on society, culture and arts. He is the president of the Istanbul Digital Culture and Art Foundation.
Zafer is a founding member of the Turkish Informatics Association and the Turkish Informatics Foundation. He has been a columnist in various magazines, organized conferences and has taken part as speaker in other occasions. He continues with his works in the art of digital painting.

Erdem Özel
Administrative Manager

Erdem is a seasoned entrepreneur and a doyen of the Turkish ICT industry. He published the first computer magazine in Turkey, and organized the first national IT congress. He led an active role in the establishment of TUBISAD Informatics Industry Association and TBV Turkish Informatics Foundation. Erdem co-founded the Interpro Corporation in 1992, and has since assumed various executive positions leading the design and production of many of the company’s products and services in the fields of print media, market research, event management, and trade fairs. Erdem is a founding partner and a member of the executive board of Istanbul Digital Culture and Art Foundation.
