Hande Zerkin

Hande was born in İzmir in 1984. She graduated from the department of Radio, TV, and Cinema at Izmir Aegean University in 2009. During her university years, she has worked in many short film projects as a cameraperson and director of photography, which she developed herself. In 2009, she worked in “Meret” (Short-Fiction) as a cameraperson. Meret was selected for the Cannes Turkish Stand the same year. Next year, She worked in another short fiction project as the director of photography and her team won “Waste and Recycle” Category Best Short Film award. Her last short fiction film called “Diary of Toprak”, won the Best Short Film award in Special Enviromental Short Film Competition in 2011. Also, her last documentary project “Nalınteri” was choosen in the Berlin Turkish Stand in 2012. She’s been taking photographs for the last five years and is currently working to complete her master thesis in Dokuz Eylul University, which is about morality and violence in Coen Brothers’ films.
